Blurb:
Inspired by true events in 1969, on the campus of McMaster University, when Ivan Reitman, Daniel Goldberg and John Hofsess; student filmmakers with the McMaster Film Board, were charged with making and exhibiting an “obscene” film called “The Columbus of Sex”.
The resulting trial in 1970, led to the only convictions in Canadian legal history for film obscenity; this world premiere production examines the role of controversial art in a just society, filtered through a Hamilton, Ontario specific lens.
The film was destroyed by the court in 1971, or so the story goes…
